"I want to do something spendid... something heroic or wonderful, that won't be forgotten after I'm dead...I think I shall write books."
~Louisa May Alcott
The hoof beats of a horse are like the beats of life. There are many kinds, representing each of our lives. Having different timings, and directions for each one of us. Each beat is important to our Creator, he sees and cares for each one. ...Here are some of my hoof beats of life...

Lights, Camera, Action! -Bleak House
Fellow Bloggers and readers, here's a new post....way overdue!!
Those of you who already know me know that I am crazy for old-fashioned things and am a huge reading fanatic. Here are a couple book/movie reviews for some amazing works that are some of my old favorites and new !
Bleak House
(the BBC movie)
Written By: Charles Dickens

This is a thrilling story with a plot that is always keeping you guessing. While watching this recently with my mother and sis, we had to stop ourselves many times before we'd watch all through the night!
Dickens very cleverly brought his characters to life in this story, there were so many people -all with an important role in the plot. It twists and turns from one scene to the next, leaving much suspense and intriguing puzzles to ponder.
I highly recommend this film to all Dickens, Jane Austen, BBC, and suspense fans!
In the story it shows the differences in the lower and higher classes in England at the time and how the people were effected by simple misunderstandings and deep kept secrets in their lives. All of the characters are unique in their own way-being very intricately made-up, some of them being: Mr. Guppy, Mr. Smallweed, Lady Deadlock, Ester Summerson, and many, many more!
I highly recommend this film to all Dickens, Jane Austen, BBC, and suspense or mystery fans!
I would tell you more, but I'd be afraid I'd give something away so just trust me and watch it! You'll love it!
(*And although I did watch the movie before actually reading the book, you may want to because it will help with the complex plot.*Either way it's awesome!!*)

Book Meme
Rules:
1. Pick up the nearest book(of at least 123 pgs.), Little Maid of Newport -my sister was reading it-
2. Open to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentenc, which is; " This is your seat, Faith, and happy birthday to you," said her uncle, as he lifted the packages to the table and drew out the chair for the surprised girl who, with a gasp of amazment, repeated: "Birthday!" as the little group cirlcled about her exclaiming laughingly over her failure to remeber her owm natal day. ( this is kind of a run-on-senence, which may be because of the age of the book, but that's ok--plus there are so many run-on's that in order to get to the fifth sentence I went to the next page!)
4. Post the next three sentences, which are; "Don't open the packages until after dinner," her aunt suggested, noticing Hallie's gestures toward the table. "Mark will take them into the living room." Faith, now smiling happily, readily agreed, and took her seat between Letty and Mary, confessing that she had wondered at the whispers and glances she had seen them interchange with Ellen; and gazing admiringly at the shining damask tablecloth, "that Aunt Cynthia only uses for real company," she proudly remembered, and sent a radiant glance toward her well-pleased comanions.
5. Tag five people....Amy, Julia, Ella, Ellree, & Zac....

Books, Books, and more Books...
The Horsemasters
The Horsemasters is a total "horsemen-flick" it is a story set in England about a group of young adults who are pursuing their assistant riding instructors certificate. To do this, they have to go through a sort of "horsemen's boot-camp". They are responsible for caring for a single horse the whole six-weeks they are there and do a series of monotonous chores each day.
A very interesting book(especially for the horseman/woman)!
Young Pioneers
This story takes place in the west, where to newly-weds from the east start a homestead. This book is very much like the "Little House" books by the author's mother, Laura Ingalls Wilder; it is filled with many situations where the main characters go through the hardships of the wild west. Read it!
A very interesting book(especially for the horseman/woman)!
Brady
This is a historical fiction book on the underground railroad.
This is a good children's book, that has a little suspense and a little history.
The book starts out with a young boy named Brady, who has trouble keeping secrets. When Brady finds out important information about the "underground" it's even harder to hold his tongue! Will Brady's father trust him to help in a critical situation?
The Inheritance
This is a lovely story. It was the first novel written by Louisa May Alcott when she was only seventeen years old. The scene is set in England at around the 1800s. This book is about Edith, a young french girl who is a well-loved companion to a young lady and her wealthy family. When the unexpected happens, because of her humble and sweet spirit, Edith tries to hide the truth. ~I'll let you find out the rest! It is a must read!
Young Pioneers
~I hope you enjoy these books!!~

The 1st book I will be referring to you is a, recently new, favorite of mine:
1) "Hallelujiah Lass", from "the Daughters of the Faith Series", 143pgs.
This is a story based on the life of the
Salvation Army pioneer, Eliza Shirley.
The Hallelujiah Lass is one of five books in the series, all of the books are based on the true lives of girls of the christian faith.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2) "Light my Path for Teens", Humble Creek Publishing, 241 pgs.
Light my Path for Teens is an enriching and encouraging book with many pages of wisdom to read in times of everyday life struggles. Almost ever time I'm having a bad day or struggling with somthing I open this book, it helps. ~
